“The church exists by mission,” Emil Brunner once said, “as a fire exists by burning.” Where there is burning, there is fire. And where there is church – there is the mission of God.

The World Mission Prayer League is a little piece of the church on fire – a community of Lutheran sisters and brothers drawn together in the mission of God. Founded in 1937, we are today thousands of praying members and approximately 120 full-time workers in 20 countries around the globe. We operate hospitals, put teachers in schools, participate in national church bodies and interdenominational ministries – bending every effort in every way we can to reach the unreached with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
