Charles and Anita Jackson

Anita Jackson and Samburu friends

Anita Jackson and Samburu friends

This evening we heard from Charles and Anita Jackson, home recently from Samburuland in northern Kenya. Charles and Anita have served among the Samburu for the better part of a decade.

This is a ministry that belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (ELCK). It is comprised of several Lutheran parishes here and there throughout Samburu district and an integrated health clinic and outreach program with headquarters in Arsim. In the course of the last year, the ministry has reached a significant point in its development. The church is no longer asking for expatriate pastors in Samburuland: the parishes are themselves replete with the gifts, leadership and vision required for carrying on. Charles and Anita, for their part, are looking for God’s direction onward.

The mission remains involved in the medical component of ELCK activities in and around Arsim, in partnership with Christoffell Blindenmission and others.
