Mexico

Mexico is home to approximately 109,000,000 persons — with more than one fifth in a single city, the Distrito Federal, the largest city in the world.

Approximately 95% of Mexico’s population describe themselves as Christian. Most of the remainder are evangelical Protestants. Mexico is home to an estimated 317 people groups overall, 14 of which are considered unreached.

For over fifty years the World Mission Prayer League has served in Mexico. Today the League cooperates in the ministries of a national Lutheran church — the Apostolic Lutheran Alliance of Mexico. Prayer League missionaries are engaged in evangelism, church planting, and leadership development ministries in three widely separated areas — Nogales, Mazatlan, and Puebla.

For further information and specific suggestions for prayer, see Joshua Project .
