Title Physicians

Position Description

Female Physicians are especially needed to serve women who observe seclusion and separation from men.  But Male physicians are also needed to provide high quality care to male patients.  Family Practice is good preparation, but other specialties could be helpful. Tank always has needed at least one, and preferably two surgeons.  It would be helpful if doctors had experience in c-sections.  Qualities we look for in our staff:  Skilled, compassionate, hard-working, team-player, upstanding moral character.  The Tank team is multi-national, multi-cultural, and may represent different faiths or denominations, so an attitude of gracious understanding is appreciated.  Short-term service is possible, enabling our staff to take leave, to allow a specialty oriented camp, and to provide Continuing Medical Education lectures and training for our staff and the local medical community.

There is great significance in a life spent nursing the sick who are poor and neglected in one of the world’s most remote areas.  If you are a credentialed nurse with a heart of compassion, you are needed at Christian Hospital Tank.  You will be challenged by the variety of the types of cases seen in this rural hospital.  Many of your patients may be women who are secluded for much of their lives and unable to receive routine medical care.  You will save lives every day.  Besides a busy OB/GYN practice, there is a Mother and Child Health Clinic, a school of applied nursing, and many different ways to utilize your nursing skills in various settings–on the wards, in supervision, or as a teacher of nurses.  Short-term assignments are possible.

Teachers:

At the LAMB English-medium school, there are currently 85 national and expatriate students in small classes, from Kindergarten to Grade 8, but developing to Grade 10. Emphasis on quality teaching and Christian example. Long term, or short term support needed from 6 weeks to one year, all subjects.

Nurses, especially OT / Surgical:

Help is needed – in the education and training of staff to apply highest professional standards in the daily work of the surgical units , and in contributing to the development of controls and protocols
