Samburu Outreach

Imagine what it was like for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob herding their flocks and finding water at a well. It’s still like that today in the remote desert, mountainous and plains area of north central Kenya where the Samburu people live. Their traditional semi-nomadic lifestyle is well suited to this beautiful, but rugged rural environment. WMPL workers are using a variety of methods to share Good News, make disciples and develop leaders among this semi-reached people group, such as: The Jesus Film outreach (including week-long camps into very remote areas), mobile medical outreach             (including transport for patients requiring specialized care), shepherd outreach among youth herding animals, educational outreach (including a scholarship fund for those pursuing higher education), and humanitarian efforts such as road building, drought/famine relief, and dental camps. Plans also include developing the work into Theological Education by Extension (TEE) in every village where leaders are identified.
