Human trafficking accounts for an estimated 50 million people worldwide held in slavery today and generates about $150 billion a year. Two-thirds of that comes from sex trafficking. Carmen has been involved with human trafficking since 1996 when she served in Nepal with Peace Rehabilitation Center (PRC), a Nepali charitable organization dedicated to fighting and preventing sexual exploitation and trafficking in Nepal. The Nepal-India border is considered to be one of the busiest human trafficking gateways in the world, with approximately 30,000 women and girls trafficked each year. Carmen’s focus is fostering a strong prayer base, advocacy, networking and development activities for PRC.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Luke 4:18,19 NIV
