The sense of call to become a spiritual director and support global workers as part of member care has taken shape for Deb in the years following her active service with WMPL as a nurse working in rural Kenya. Spiritual direction is exemplified in Scripture by Jesus Himself and could be described as spiritual companionship or holy listening as one seeks to deepen their relationship with the Triune God.
Deb is now an Associate Worker with WMPL and envisions coming alongside individuals during all seasons of life, whether it be in person or via technology, in the U.S. or overseas. A prayer point is to ask God to strengthen Deb and her ‘directees’ with power through His Spirit in their inner being.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ…
