The General Support Fund permits contributing to the support of workers without designating a specific person, couple or family. These gifts are applied towards monthly allowances unmet by designated gifts. A portion of these gifts, like designated gifts, are transferred to the Benefits Fund to offset the actual cost of medical and life insurance, Social Security, and retirement.
