As we enter the Christmas season, we are reminded about God’s great gift to us – Jesus. During Christmas, we give gifts to those that we love and care about. God gave his Son Jesus to the world because of his deep love for us. Although Christmas time is often the favorite time of year for many (especially younger ones receiving presents!) Christmas can be one of the busiest times of the year and sometimes we can even start to lose focus on who we are celebrating! Fortunately for us, God never forgets his gracious promises to us nor his love for us. The writer of Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV) tells us, “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” We can rest assured that no matter what we are going through or how busy we are, he will be there for us with arms open wide.
It has been estimated that nonprofit organizations receive 30% of their annual giving in December, and 10% of charitable donations are made in the final three days of the year. As we approach the end of the year, we often receive donations of stock and Qualifying Charitable Distributions (QCD’s) from our donors. If you have any questions about donating stock or making QCD’s from an IRA, please contact the Business Office at 612.249.5720. Please remember, donations that are mailed to us will need to be postmarked by December 31 in order to qualify as a 2021 donation. It has been amazing to see how God has provided for us during the past year, and we look forward to his abundant provision for the Prayer League’s kingdom work in 2022.
As you can see in the accompanying chart, God generously met our financial needs during the month of October and we were able to once again pay all of our workers 100% of their allowance.
