Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!

In the spring, a bird family built a nest on a tree by the side of our house. First, there was one bluish egg. We were so excited, called the kids to come look, and even took some pictures. Within a few days, there were three eggs! Unfortunately, soon after, we noticed one broken egg and a few days later – no eggs! There were only remnants of broken shells on the yard. After a few days, we noticed grass and twigs on our deck. Sure enough, the birds had moved to higher ground and were building a nest, right on top of the deck light. The two birds worked tirelessly together, secured the bottom of the nest from sliding, and build a beautiful home. Eggs were laid and soon there were baby birds chirping. It was beautiful to see the parent birds build a secure home, feed the baby birds, and stay in the vicinity to ensure protection. When the time was right, the family moved on.
The birds remind me of God’s love. God who made the birds made us his precious children. He is God who calls us to himself, watches over, and provides for his mission in every changing season. He is God in the spring when baby birds are born and when a new idea and calling is laid on our hearts. He is God in the fall when beauty of fall color surrounds us, squirrels are gathering acorns, and the mission is thriving. He is God in the winter, when it is dark and cold, when there is war and brokenness, when there is persecution, when doors to mission fields close. He is God of all seasons!
Thank you for standing with WMPL through the years, praying faithfully through many seasons that have come and gone. Whatever season you are in, our Savior Jesus Christ is God! May we all hear the voice of the Lord who is God of all seasons. May we rely on Jesus’ strength and continually seek him.
Search for the LORD and for his strength; and continually seek him. Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given.
