Good News: He Lives!

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.”

John 11:25 NIV

Spring has arrived for us in Minnesota and with it comes more daylight, singing birds, melting snow and green grass. It is certainly a time of year that we look forward to, as it means that the worst of winter is behind us: no more frigid temperatures to keep us cooped up inside, no more back-breaking snow shoveling, and no more slippery sidewalks and roads. It is the start of something new. Solomon wrote, “See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come; the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12 NIV) With the extra hours of daylight, we often want to be doing more things like going for a walk, spending time in the garden, or watching a baseball game. As we enjoy time outside in God’s creation, observing new life springing up around us, the newness can remind us to focus on God’s love for all peoples and the new life he wants them to have and us to share: a love so deep that God sent his Son Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and die in our place. And not only this, but Jesus also defeated death and rose again to give us new life. Glory to his name!

Our workers in the Business Office are doing well under the “new” norm. We are used to either working from home or working with those who are working from home. Financial supporters continue to bless the work with their giving, and the workers themselves are serving according to their calling and commission in parts of Latin America, Africa, Asia, and North America. We praise God that many countries have re-opened their borders and eased COVID restrictions, allowing global workers to move more freely and share the Good News. Workers have found that online technology can be very helpful in the Great Commission effort, however, there is nothing like sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ on site, in the flesh, person-to-person.

With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.

Acts 4:33 NIV

Thank you for helping make all this happen through your prayers and financial giving as the Lord provides. And God has provided! WMPL workers received 100% of their allowance during the past month, for which we are very grateful. On behalf of everybody in the Business Office, Happy Easter!
