Greetings! My name is John Collova and I have the privilege of being the new Business Manager at the home office. Most of you will not recognize my name as I am new to World Mission Prayer League. My connection to the organization is through my relatives who previously served with WMPL, David and Miriam Ramse. Over the past 15 years, I have worked in the accounting departments at a variety of organizations (including non-profits) and God has used that time to prepare me for my service at the Prayer League.
My slow journey to WMPL began almost a year ago as I was told about one of the open positions in the business office. God met the needs of the League in a different way at that time, and I was left wondering where he wanted me.
It would certainly be more convenient for us if God spoke to us in dreams and visions, but he doesn’t usually work that way. After stepping back and reflecting on God’s will for my life, there were many areas where it seemed like he was guiding me down a certain path. My “life verses” are Proverbs 3:5,6:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.
After seeing the bigger picture, it became more and more clear that it was the will of God that I should be at WMPL after all – so here I am!
Now that I have completed my first month in the office, it has been great to see how God meets our financial needs on a daily basis, as checks and credit card donations come in. It reminds me of Exodus 16 where God provided manna for the Israelites, which caused them to look to the Lord every day to meet their needs.
I am glad to be a part of the WMPL team, and I certainly look forward to this new challenge – and to meeting many of our workers, associates, donors and prayer partners. It will be great to see the different ways God will continue to provide for WMPL, and I look forward to seeing his day-to-day provision.
