Giving – By Text Message!

Many churches and non-profit organizations offer donors the opportunity to give via text message. I have been making donations in this way myself, and find it to be very convenient. I have become convinced that our own members may like to contribute to WMPL in this way, too. So we have set up a system for giving by text message.

To send a donation in this way, simply text the amount that you want to donate (including the dollar sign – for example $20) to the number 612.979.1026.

The first time you make a donation by text, you will need to register. After entering your donation amount you will immediately receive a text message back with a registration link. During registration you will be asked to enter your name, email address, credit card information, and so on. Once registered, future donations can be made instantly with a single, convenient text message.

If you donate in this way you will receive three donation confirmations. You will receive an immediate automated confirmation by text message as well as an automated email from eservicepayments. We will also send a receipt from our Business Office through our normal receipting process.

Text message donations do not permit other instructions, designations or notes: you send a dollar sign and amount, and nothing more. If you wish to include a note or specify a particular designation, you may contact us at business@wmpl.org or by phone at 612.871.6843. If we do not hear from you, we will apply your gift to the fund you traditionally support – or, if we find no traditional pattern, to the General Fund. If your receipt does not seem to square with your intentions, you can contact us by email or phone and get that corrected at any time.

July Provision TableI have found this to be a convenient way to make charitable donations. I hope and trust that this will be another useful tool for those who are led to contribute financially to the Prayer League.

The table summarizes the financial results for July as it relates to allowance payments. The minimum allowance paid was 94% of the target allowance. We needed $3,258 more in General Fund donations in order to pay full target allowances. A portion of each Support Fund donation was used to pay missionary benefits, in addition to a transfer of $29,537 from the Estate Fund for remaining benefit expenses. Thank you for your partnership in this ministry!
