Those Given a Trust

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

Psalm 24:1 NIV

Having closed out the books on 2021 and entered 2022, we continue to be blessed by those of you that give: ministry partners like you who commit time to prayer or donate financially. On behalf of the Prayer League, I praise God for you!

In my December article, I mentioned that non-profits receive a significant portion of their donations during the month of December. WMPL was no exception. Now that we have received many gifts from partners like you, what do we do? First, we thank the Lord for His continued provision through you. Next, we practice good stewardship and look to wisely put the money to use, honoring your designated giving and then, after evaluating needs for current projects and programs, applying any additional funds accordingly.

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

1 Corinthians 4:2 NIV

In addition to wanting to be good stewards of the resources God has given, we also do not want to let those resources sit around and “collect dust.” WMPL requires global workers to have an action plan for how they will use the funds to further God’s kingdom. The Regional Directors oversee those plans.

The Board also had the foresight to provide Prayer League workers with a 5% allowance increase effective this month in recognition of the current rise in inflation. According to a recent news article, inflation in 2021 rose at the fastest pace in almost 40 years. This may seem a little unsettling, but we can remember that it is God who rules and we are called to trust in Him. Psalm 112:7 says, “[The righteous] will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.” (NIV)

God is good and we have seen him meet the financial needs of the Prayer League month after month. All of our workers received 100% of their allowance. We never know exactly how God is going to supply our needs, but He continues to do so. Praise be to God! On behalf of everyone in the Business Office, thank you for your support throughout 2021, and we are grateful to partner with you in this year of 2022.
