Time Passes: God’s Provision Remains

Summer is quickly disappearing and autumn Halloween candy and decorations have been making their way into local stores for the past several weeks. And it won’t be long before North American retailers start promoting Christmas and the cold weather that comes with it!

Time stops for no one. Sometimes we’re talking with someone about an event that happened five years ago only to think, “Wasn’t that only a year or two ago?” Or perhaps a celebrity’s age will be mentioned in the news and we’ll wonder where the past 30 years have gone. The things around us always change and pass, but no matter what, God does not change, nor do His words.

We are told by Jesus in Luke 21:33, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (NIV) Jesus reassures us that we are more valuable than sparrows (Matthew 10:31) and to not worry about provision, but rather to seek him first and find the other “things” will be given as well. (Matthew 6:31,34)

At WMPL, we receive God’s provision each and every day. I have been here for just over a year, and it has been a blessing to see and experience first-hand not just how God provides for WMPL as a whole, but for each of us individually.

Even though Thanksgiving is on the horizon, it is never too early to give thanks – in fact, we have reason to always be giving thanks even in difficulties! The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (NIV) I am very thankful for those in the Business Office that continue to learn new things and adapt to change so they can do their part to help keep things running smoothly. I am also very thankful for you, our donors and prayer partners. Although you may not be an “official” WMPL global worker or staff worker, you are still a fellow worker and very much part and partner of the Prayer League.

We thank the Lord for meeting our day-to-day needs through all the changing seasons and passing of time, and we thank you for your continued prayers and support. During July, the Lord again provided for us and our workers received 100% allowance. Thanks be to God!
